pairing - recom miles quaritch x omatikaya!fem! reader
cw! torture, the machine that was used on Spider basically, death, gore (?), very descriptive stuff sorry, sexually suggestive things hehe 🤭
mature content ahead : proceed with caution!
Give up the Sullys, your people, give up everything you’ve ever known for these demons. That’s what they wanted from you. The whirring of the machine was worse enough, but to give up your entire life? You couldn’t think of any other hell. Squeezing your eyes shut, you listened as the tiny woman called General, demanded you think of something, anything. But you couldn’t, you couldn’t give up your clan.
You sobbed, the pain was unbearable. It felt like the torture went on for hours, days maybe. There were moments when you almost gave in, almost just fessed up. You knew you’d be banished if you made it back to your clan. That’s if they kill you once they got what they needed. You knew at some point they’d figure out where Sully went whether the information was from you, Spider or simple clues.
Mustering some strength you prayed to Eywa, words jumbled as you fought against the pain. This only pissed the General off even more as Spider reluctantly translated for her. “We can do this all day. Either you fess up now or we find more painful ways to get the information out of you!” The General was too confident you thought, too confident in her stupid sky army and inventions. You just needed to resist a bit more, maybe they’d give up, or maybe you would. It was an internal battle you knew they figured out by now, after all they had your entire mind on display.
You figured you could use it to your advantage, think of something to combat them. Something to show them your strength and resistance. You’d think of crushing them, starting with the tiny woman in front of you. You pictured her in your mind, waiting for the observation of the little people in white coats. Once you heard them alert her, you moved on to the next phase in this scene.
Making sure the thought was clear in your head, you pictured yourself plunging your knife into her body. Hearing her scoff, you opened your eyes, making sure she saw your determination. Before she could walk away, you did your best to think of their fortress in flame, crushed under your peoples fist. “Very theatrical, you and your people, shame you’re all so stubborn, your clan would be great allies.” You hissed at her, watching as she moved to stop the machine, finding no more use in you.
You sighed in relief as the machine slowed, and the restraints loosened around your body. Looking down, you observed as she gestured for the soldier from before to take you away. You almost fought against him as he grabbed you, but the exhaustion was stronger. Going limp in his hold, you gave the woman one last glare before being pulled away from the machine.
Before you could get back to your room, you had to be checked by the ‘scientists’ and ‘doctors’. Once the Colonel was given the green light, he pulled you up by your arms, and began making his way back to your holding cell. Spider followed behind, ducking under the Colonel’s tail as it flicked behind him.
“Y/n! Are you alright? I’m so sorry they had to do that to you.” You groaned in response, the boy’s frantic voice piercing your ears drums. “Go away.” Huffing, you attempted to lay down on the table in the room but were stopped by the buffoon that got you into this mess. “Uh uh sweetheart, doc says you gotta stay awake for the next hour or two to make sure your brain’s alright”
Smacking your teeth, you slapped the Colonel’s hands away and sat back up. Before you could argue with the man you were grabbed by Spider. Wrapping his arms around you, Spider squeezed you tight. “I’m sorry Y/n. I know you think I’ve betrayed your people, but please just listen to me.”
Hearing a pained grunt from you, Spider pulled away and stood back up to full height. You truly did not want to hear the excuses but he was just a boy you thought to yourself. “Go ahead.” You sighed and patted the place next to you for Spider to sit.
“Look, I know it looks bad and all, but I was captured just like you, and they used that machine on me too. And if I could go back in time and make sure I died before they caught me, or got away, I’d make sure of it.” The Colonel chuckled snidely to himself at this, drawing out a growl from you. Turning, you faced Spider and placed a hand on his shoulder. He let out a shuddered breath, that of a sob. “You have to see me Y/n, please. You have to understand that I’d never give up the clan.”
You were torn, within the first few minutes of seeing him in this cell when you woke up, you’d accused him of betrayal to the clan. Rightfully so, which Spider assured you. You had every right to lose faith and trust in him, after all he was without restraint in this place, and the man before you is his father. Well, was. Spider explained everything to you, with the protest of the Colonel, or ‘Miles Quaritch’. He even explained that no, they couldn’t let you go, not even if you begged, or were of no use to the General. They couldn’t risk it. So you’d be stuck here until they somehow captured and killed your former clan leader.
General ‘Ardmore’ would find a use for you, whether you liked it or not, was what ‘Miles’ told you. And within the hour, she did. You’d help the Recom Crew blend in, learn some of the ways of The People. Against your wishes of course. It was one thing to have a human boy raised amongst the Na’vi, but it was another to have a Na’vi, let alone an Omatikaya member.
You’d be fed and given a room to stay in. “We ain’t that cruel.” Is what you remembered ‘Miles’ saying, in a deep accent that made you giggle. Everything he said was hilarious when he sounded like that. Even his half assed threats.
By the end of the day you’d figure out the names of some of the soldiers you saw from Spider’s descriptions. You wondered just why, would these people who hated Na’vi, want to become one? You knew that back home, everyone would find it humorous. Imagining your friends asking about their funny hands and feet. Your clan accepted Jake Sully and his children for their differences, but these dreamwalkers? Never. They’d never become Na’vi.
You chuckled to yourself at this thought. They were signing themselves up for certain failure. Even Jake Sully himself said that the training was tough, and he gave it his all. These people were too clumsy, worse than children, and reluctant to even accept their new identities. But as ‘Miles’ explained, these people, were only meant to be clones. Given the memories of dead marines. It almost comforted you, thinking that these people may have chances to change, but you knew better than to expect more from less.
Laying down on your cot, you sighed and looked up at the ceiling, wishing for the forest noises and night sky to quell your anguish.
For now you’d go over what soldiers to look out for, advice from Spider. ‘Miles’ you knew, was your best shot, if you could get under his skin, or convince him go change, maybe you’d have a chance at escaping. The thought invaded your mind. Just how would you use ‘Miles’ to your advantage? The more you thought, the more your mind shifted to him entirely.
“‘Miles’..” You said his name aloud. Testing it out on your tongue. It was nice but also pitiful almost, to waste such a man on a task. How useful he’d be back home with those arms. That you were focused on most. And his voice, how powerful you sensed it was. As stupid as his accent was, it almost, ignited something inside. Hearing him speak. Watching him move. The way his muscles ripped beneath his skin.
You shuddered at the imagine forming inside your mind. This man had captured you, you couldn’t allow yourself to be deceived by him. You grunted to yourself and flopped onto your side, pacifying yourself with wishes for home, as turmoil filled the back of your mind. Colonel, Miles, demon, dreamwalker, whatever he was, you couldn’t allow yourself to become another piece in their game.
You dreamt of home that night, and the wonders it would become with Miles.

Kelly Hogan performing “Papa Was A Rodeo” accompanied by the whistling of Andrew Bird. ___________________ Papa Was A Rodeo Songwriter: Stephin Merritt
I like your twisted point of view, Mike I like your questioning eyebrows You've made it pretty clear what you like It's only fair to tell you now
That I leave early in the morning And I won't be back 'til next year I see that kiss-me pucker forming But maybe you should plug it with a beer, 'cause
Papa was a rodeo, Mama was a rock and roll band I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand Home was anywhere with diesel gas, love was a trucker's hand Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand Before you kiss me, you should know Papa was a rodeo
The light reflecting off the mirror ball Looks like a thousand swirling eyes They make me think I shouldn't be here at all You know, every minute someone dies
What are we doing in this dive bar? How can you live in a place like this? Why don't you just get into my car? And I'll take you away, I'll take that kiss now, but
Papa was a rodeo, Mama was a rock and roll band I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand Home was anywhere with diesel gas, love was a trucker's hand Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand Before you kiss me, you should know Papa was a rodeo
And now it's 55 years later We've had the romance of the century After all these years wrestling gators I still feel like crying when I think of what you said to me
Papa was a rodeo, Mama was a rock and roll band I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand Home was anywhere with diesel gas, love was a trucker's hand Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand Before you kiss me, you should know Papa was a rodeo, mmm What a coincidence, your Papa was a rodeo too

Keep the bedroom door shut just to hide our broken dreams It's where we tried to rise up on our torn and tattered wings The vows have lost their meaning and memory only stings And I guess we just can't have nice things

Jane Doe from Massachusetts, who had an ectopic pregnancy rupture because a pregnancy crisis center told her it was viable
The Jane Doe had an ectopic pregnancy rupture after an anti-abortion pregnancy center told her she had a normal pregnancy
Emily Doe, whose fetus had lungs that wouldn’t develop and had no kidneys. The pregnancy had the potential to endanger her health…but it wasn’t endangering it yet. So she had to flee Missouri for an abortion.
Victoria Doe from Louisiana, who had to go to Oregon
Ashley Brandt
Anna Zargarian
Reverend and Doctor Love Holt
Michelle Mitchenor
Brooke High
Ashley from Mississippi, who was raped and forced to give birth to her rapist's baby. She's 13.
Nicole Blackmon
Allie Phillips
Jennifer Adkins
When we do win back our right to bodily autonomy, forced birthers will forget these people. Some have absolutely no idea who these people are. But when you tell them you hope what they force on others gets forced on them, they gasp and say you're evil. Because they recognize that what they force on others is wrong, and they think they deserve better than their victims.
If you think the "abortion debate" is merely a difference of opinion, you haven't been paying attention.

Watching Sinc’s last press conference and in the first 30 second you hear the moderator go “oh if you want to sit with the media it’s over there” and then two very emphatic voices saying “we are the media” and then this
Tumblr media
I so appreciate their dedication to fucking with Sinc as much as possible during this entire experience because she hates this so much
(Also when they ask their questions you can hear the entire team losing their shit like hitting chairs)

Was that supposed to do anything? Jello wiggles. Worms wiggle. Lots of things wiggle. It doesn't make everything a person.
And regardless of whether you see an embryo as a person, no one is obligated to let anything or anyone live inside their body.
Marlena Stell had an incomplete miscarriage. That’s when the fetus starts to miscarry but doesn’t exit the body. She was forced to wait 2 weeks with a dead fetus inside her before she got treatment.
Amanda Zurawski had premature dilation. The pregnancy was previability, and the fetus would not survive. But it still had a heartbeat, so she had to wait before getting an abortion. She went into septic shock.
Mylissa Farmer’s water broke early. Too early for the baby to survive. The hospital said it couldn’t treat her. She reached out to her senator…who referred her to an antiabortion crisis pregnancy. She reached out to her state attorney general…who simply never got back to her. She had to travel out of state for an abortion.
The 10-year-old from Ohio was fucking raped. She had to go out of state for an abortion. “Prolifers” said she should have been forced to give birth.
The 16-year-old from Florida was sentenced to parenthood by a judge who thought her grades showed she was too irresponsible for an abortion…but clearly responsible enough to raise a child…with no job or parents ti support her.
The 15-year-old from Florida was raped and had to leave the state for an abortion.
Nancy Davis was pregnant with a headless fetus. She had to travel out of state for an abortion.
Elizabeth Weller’s water broke early. Previability. But the fetus had a heartbeat, so Elizabeth had to wait for infection to set in before she got an abortion.
Anya Cook had her water break early. But she had to lose almost half her blood before getting treated.
Kelly Shannon had a fetus with multiple health defects. Even if it survived to 9 months, it likely wouldn’t survive labor. She had to travel out of state for an abortion.
Jessica Bernardo’s fetus would have either died before birth or lived a few hours or days after birth. Jessica became very ill…but not ill enough to qualify for an abortion. So she had to travel out of state for one.
Kierstan Hogan’s water broke early. 19 weeks. The doctors couldn’t perform an abortion. She was told that if she left the hospital to seek treatment in another state, it could be used as evidence against her in a court of law. She had to give birth to her stillborn son in a bathroom.
Taylor Edwards had to leave the state to get an abortion for a nonviable fetus that was risking her health.
Kylie Beaton’s fetus had a fatal brain condition, but she was denied an abortion.
Samantha Casiano had a fetus missing most of the brain and skull. She couldn’t afford to travel out of state, so she was forced to give birth.
Lauren Van Vleet had to leave the state to get an abortion for a nonviable fetus that was risking her health.
Austin Dennard had a fetus with ancephaly. She had to travel out of state for an abortion.
Lauren Miller was pregnant with twins, but one twin had a condition that endangered her life and the life of the other twin. She had to leave the state to have fetal reduction surgery.
Jaci Statton had a molar pregnancy. That’s cancerous. She was told to wait in the parking lot until she was sick enough to get an abortion.
Kristina Cruickshank had blood-filled cysts. She had to wait 5 days to get an abortion for a nonviable pregnancy.
Tara George’s fetus would not survive outside the womb. Giving birth would risk Tara’s life. She was forced to travel out of state for an abortion.
Kailee DeSpain’s fetus would be stillborn or die shortly after birth. Continuing the pregnancy would endanger Kailee’s life. She had to travel out of state for an abortion.
Deborah Dorbert’s fetus was nonviable. They knew that if he was born, he would live a short, painful life. Deborah wanted an abortion to prevent his pain, but she was denied one. So she gave birth to Milo. He lived 99 minutes. As his parents watched him die, he made hiccupping sounds. They soon realized that was him struggling to breathe. May every forced birther hear that sound in their dreams.
Mayron Hollis had to get a fucking hysterectomy because doctors didn’t give her an abortion.
Gabriella Gonzalez had to travel out of state to abort her abusive boyfriend’s fetus. When she returned, he murdered her. Forced birthers commented on a video showing her mother and sister sobbing that fathers had rights too, that it was her fault for being with the man, that she should have just swallowed.
Kristen Anya’s water broke early. She had to go into sepsis before being treated.
Heather Maberry was forced to travel out of state to abort a headless fetus.
Melissa Novak was miscarrying. She should have been given both mifepristone and misoprostol. But she was only given misoprostol. You know because how much litigation is going on around mifepristone. She went into septic shock.
Kayla Smith had to leave the state to get an abortion for a nonviable fetus that was risking her health.
Lauren Christensen’s fetus had organ failure, which would likely lead to Lauren’a organs failing. She had to leave the state for an abortion.
Beth Long’s fetus’ organs were outside its body. But her insurance doesn’t cover abortions that aren’t to save the life of the mother. Good old Hyde amendment! So she had to find an out of state hospital that gave them a discounted rate. When her husband wrote to DeWine, the same DeWine that once thought ectopic pregnancies could be saved, DeWine took months to reply, and never bothered to learn Beth’s name.
Anabely Lopes had to leave the state to abort a fetus with a fatal birth defect.
Christina Zielke was miscarrying. Despite filling diapers with blood, she was sent home. She passed the fuck out and needed to call paramedics.
Kaitlyn Joshua was miscarrying. Her jeans were soaked with blood. But the fetus had a heart beat. No D&C for Kaitlyn, she had to miscarry at home.
Lauren Hall had to leave the state to get an abortion for a nonviable fetus that was risking her health.
Carmen Broesder had to experience a 19-day miscarriage because of delays in treatment. She documented it on tiktok. You should watch it. You could use a good nightmare.
Jill Hartle had to leave the state to get an abortion for a nonviable fetus.
Brittany Vidrine had to leave the state to abort a headless fetus.
The Jane Doe had an ectopic pregnancy rupture after an anti-abortion pregnancy center told her she had a normal pregnancy.
Emily Doe, whose fetus had lungs that wouldn’t develop and had no kidneys. The pregnancy had the potential to endanger her health…but it wasn’t endangering it yet. So she had to flee Missouri for an abortion.
Victoria Doe from Louisiana, who had to go to Oregon for an abortion.

All this uproar, the court cases, the children suffering? Unsurprisingly, the result of a couple of dedicated transphobic conspiracy theorists.
“The review of Policy 713 officially began in late April 2023, according to the province but only became public knowledge on May 5.
When asked why the review started, Hogan and Higgs gave several reasons, including "misinterpretations and concerns," from the public, and "hundreds of complaints" about the issue.
At the time, child and youth advocate Kelly Lamrock asked for the complaints showing these misinterpretations and concerns. The department handed over three emails.
When challenged, Hogan said Lamrock was only given a sample, and if people wanted to see all the emails, they could file a right to information request.
Through right to information, CBC News requested all emails about 2SLGBTQ+ issues sent to Hogan between January 2020 and May 2023.
According to records, Hogan received about 40 emails about those issues in those three years. The majority, about 35 emails, came between March and May 5, 2023, stating objections to different forms of 2SLGBTQ+ education or drag storytime.”
“The Saint John woman on Facebook, Barb Dempsey, is one of several New Brunswickers who make posts against 2SLGBTQ-inclusive education on social media and ask people to lobby the government for change. It's not clear whether she created the petition she shared in early April.
In late April, Dempsey and another New Brunswick resident started promoting a protest against the teachers' event in Hanwell.
On that day, a small group of protesters held signs calling educators "perverts," and accusing them of harming children.
In a later interview, when asked why he started the policy review, Higgs referred to that event.”
“Some email authors said teaching children about the concept of gender identity would harm them because it would confuse them.
In July, in his speech to the legislature, Higgs said, "we're seeing a rapid onset of gender dysphoria. It's expanded in the last several years and it's becoming popular and trendy."
"Society can compound [children's] confusion," he said.
The New Brunswick Medical Society said that the points Higgs made are "ideologically based narratives."
The society said "rapid onset gender dysphoria," or the notion that some children are socially influenced to become trans when they're actually not, has no scientific basis.
"The notion of 'Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria' is not a recognized medical condition and should not be used in medical, social, or political narrative," the society said in a statement.
"Framing gender dysphoria as 'trendy or popular,' as opposed to an actual medical diagnosis, lead to further prejudice and misinformation."”

"Blue Magic" Leatherbound AU
Been obsessed with Albo's Leather Bound AU Huskerdust- the idea came into mind after listening to "Blue Magic" by Kelly Hogan
"And I will be your volunteer, if you can make this love disappear, like Magic"
A hurt/comfort scene came to mind, Angel taking care of Husk (Dusky) after he had a really bad night at work, Angel helps soothe him in his dressing room and gives him a dance 0#0
I was going to have Angel still have his clothes on- but after drawing his ass- I thought it would be a crime to cover it up
I may add the different lighting/ color variants- I was having a bit too much fun playing around with the everything--
